A growing catalogue. An honest count.

Understand the catalogue counts and the individual needs behind them.

52 profiles, 51 recognized breeds

Our purebred profiles represent 51 of the 205 breeds recognized by the AKC in January 2026: 24.9%. Standard and Miniature Poodles are separate care profiles but one recognized breed in this count. This is an AKC benchmark, not a claim about every breed recognized worldwide.

20 named-cross guides, plus unknown ancestry

Named crosses connect to both parent backgrounds. There is no finite worldwide list of all mixed-breed combinations, and nicknames are not a registry of standardized breeds. We separately provide guidance for mixed dogs whose ancestry is unknown.

What coverage does and does not mean

A profile means a visitor can read sourced care context and navigate related backgrounds. It does not mean that a suitable individual dog is available locally. The quiz uses breed tendencies and transparent preferences; mixed backgrounds need individual assessment.

Where the catalogue can grow

Many recognized breeds are still missing. Future expansion should add equally useful source-backed profiles, improve regional registration data and test the experience with real users. A larger count alone is not proof of a better match.
