The beginning

Puppy days

Introduce combing, bathing and ear handling gently with rewards. Pair gradual social experiences with toilet trips and short play, protecting naps between activities.

Your everyday

Adult life

Keep daily walks, fetch and learning in the adult routine. Continue gentle encouragement and thorough coat care; familiarity does not remove its need for activity.

Everyday care

Comb the long, silky furnishings thoroughly and maintain bathing and trimming. Provide daily walks, games and lessons; a shorter coat still needs regular upkeep.

Worth planning for: Full-coat grooming is a substantial commitment, and harsh corrections can undermine this sensitive dog’s training.
