The beginning

Puppy days

Start short reward-based lessons and gradual introductions early. Teach quiet resting between games, with frequent toilet opportunities and gentle handling of ears and feathering.

Your everyday

Adult life

An adult remains an athletic bird dog. Keep walks, tracking or retrieving activities and continued training; arrange dependable company rather than routine long stretches alone.

Everyday care

Brush the double coat and feathering regularly, keeping feet and undertail tidy. Daily active outings and searching or retrieving games suit its working background.

Worth planning for: Long periods alone can bring unwanted behaviour; an active, social Springer needs exercise and dependable company.
