Continue brisk walks, shared play and enjoyable training, with plenty of contact throughout the day. Arrange company during long absences and maintain grooming even in a shorter trim.
Comb or pin-brush the silky coat daily to prevent tangles; a shorter clip reduces work. Include daily walks or play, eye-corner cleaning and regular ear checks.
Worth planning for: Long absences can be difficult for this people-oriented breed, and the coat can mat without daily attention.
