The beginning

Puppy days

Young Whippets can be energetic explorers: check barriers carefully. Introduce people and handling positively, with frequent toilet trips and naps between short play sessions.

Your everyday

Adult life

Many adults enjoy exercise followed by quiet rest. Keep daily outings and secure play, judging the individual’s activity and responses around other animals.

Everyday care

Brush the fine coat and maintain nails. Pair daily walks with secure play; limited insulation means cold outings may need a well-fitting coat and warm rest afterward.

Worth planning for: Speed and pursuit instincts need secure boundaries; good recall practice cannot guarantee safety around fleeing animals.
