The beginning

Puppy days

Reward calm greetings and cooperative grooming in short sessions. Introduce people and surroundings positively, offer safe chew toys, and build a quiet rest routine between activities.

Your everyday

Adult life

Keep long walks, play and mental challenges in the day. Water work, obedience or tracking can channel ability, while consistent rewards help manage independent decisions.

Everyday care

The dense curly or wavy coat needs regular, extensive grooming and clipping. Provide vigorous daily activity and learning, with regular ear checks and tooth brushing.

Worth planning for: Low shedding does not mean easy grooming, and exuberant greetings may overwhelm very young children.
